Location: Across several sites. Main base Goodmayes Hospital (Ilford)

Closing Date: 19/08/2022

The post holder would need to employ a wide range of psychological skills, largely informed by evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The post holder will offer continuity of care across the acute pathway, supporting a specialist caseload of service-users to safely transition to the community. The postholder will be competent in practicing within psychiatric wards, home treatment teams and community crisis teams with service-users who present with high levels of distress, challenging behaviour and risk. Many of the service-users within this pathway will have complex emotional needs and a formal or emerging diagnosis of personality disorder, requiring support to navigate their acute crises. The post holder should therefore be interested in DBT principles for suicidal and challenging behaviour. They should also be committed to self-reflection and willingness to participate in weekly group ‘consult’. The role involves liaison with the nationally respected IMPART specialist personality disorder service who also offer input to the team. Training and supervision will be provided in relevant evidence-based models.
