We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, bringing organisational skills as well as the ability to respond flexibly in the moment. The post holder will be confident working with a variety of trauma presentations & knowing when to offer individual support and when to work systemically with the surgical team or with 3rd party providers. The post holder will form a key function in providing consultation, liaison, training and psychological supervision to other HCPs including facial trauma surgeons, dentists, nursing staff and other specialists working within the dental hospital. This will include supporting the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in delivering support for staff at risk for vicarious trauma& complex patient and family presentations in the dental hospital.

The post holder may be required to undertake neuropsychological assessments & develop structured treatment plans for patients with mild brain injury.

The DOT-Psychology service is a large, close-knit team of psychologists who work together to provide psychological input across the dental hospital. As such, there will also be scope for the post-holder to become involved in clinical work or projects across the wider DOT-Psychology service which provides psychological services to those at high risk of poor oral health, those who are undergoing non-trauma related facial surgery. We also provide a paediatric  psychology service.
